The president of the Hebrew University, Prof. Menachem Ben-Shashon: "I am happy that the Hebrew University continues to star in the list of the 100 best universities in the world and even moved up 15 places compared to last year. I hope that the processes the university is going through will strengthen the recognition it receives from the international scientific community, which sees it as an important partner in leading the world's research agenda." Ben-Shashon added and said that "the fact that we reached such a high ranking testifies to the outstanding work of the university's researchers and for that I am proud and grateful."

The Technion is ranked 42nd in the world in engineering and technology and among the 75 leading universities in the world in life sciences, mathematics and chemistry.

The Shanghai ranking began in 2003 and is designed to improve the level of Chinese universities, while comparing them to 500 leading universities in the world. The ranking is based on objective criteria and many data. Among the criteria - the number of winners of the Nobel Prize and other prestigious awards, the number of scientific articles published in the leading journals - Nature and Science and other performances relative to the size of the university. The basic Chinese research encompasses 1000 universities, from which the top 500 universities are selected.

"The research that is being completed these days shows that the graduates of the Technion are indeed driving the hi-tech locomotive that attracts the Israeli economy," he said. "It turns out that 76% of the graduates of the Technion in the last two decades were absorbed into the high-tech industry in Israel, which is responsible for 51% of the industrial exports of the State of Israel. Of these, 25% are CEOs or VPs, 21% serve in other management positions, 10% are team leaders and 12.6% are engaged in research and development. 59 out of 129 Israeli companies traded on Nasdaq were founded or managed by Technion graduates."

  1. The title says that the Technion is a leader in computer science, while the content says that the Weizmann Institute has overtaken it

  2. By the way, Yossi:
Of course, everything you wrote is pure nonsense, but this is not the place to expand on the matter.

  3. Joseph:
There is an article that deals neither with religion nor with disputes between seculars and religious and you come and try to steal the discussion in the article and turn it into another war between religious and secular.
This is a typical custom for the Batbatites, so I assume you will adopt another custom typical of them and the outlook is secular.

  4. Yossi, the country was established by Zionists who went against the religious establishment that demanded to wait for the Messiah. Some of them are still waiting for the Messiah but in the meantime they live at the expense of the declining middle class. And besides that there is a difference between hatred and reproach. If someone does something wrong, it is allowed to prove him for it, not all criticism is anti-Semitism, and besides, I have not heard a single secularist say that, but behind a keyboard no one knows who you really are.

  5. good evening
I am a Jewish secular person.
And I sometimes read here words of hatred or hatred against the religious.
I can't understand where this hatred or evil comes from.
I would like to remind you that it is only thanks to your ancestors who preserved their Judaism for over 2000 years
Against all odds, our ancestors managed to establish a state.
Indeed there are many diseases and problems and they need to be solved
But not by hatred and certainly not by incitement
Hopefully in the next survey the State of Israel will find a much higher place
    Joseph

  6. What is the real reason that the rating is high, and even higher if you compare it to the amount of the population?

Considering the fact that a large percentage of citizens in general are engaged in religion.

Is this the reality that this country lives in? The genes of this nation? Good leadership?
    What is the reason??

  7. If and when they make the comparison to the number of residents of the State of Israel
In relation to the rest of the countries of the world, then the ratings will be much higher
May the State of Israel be able to strengthen the education system and the academy
Political resilience begins with social resilience
    Next year in higher rankings
    Successfully

  8. It is worth noting that the number of Israeli companies traded on Nasdaq is second only to the USA. An impressive achievement considering the size of the State of Israel and the size of the population.
