For those who were looking for evidence of global warming / Dr. Assaf Rosenthal

If the disbelievers (in global warming and its damages) needed more signs that the temperatures are indeed rising and that the rise is a negative factor for the natural and human environment, then the following tests and studies came and pointed to the problem.

In a report delivered at the European Geosciences Union conference
The results of a study were presented in which the effect of global warming on rivers in Russia and on (frost-till) permafrost areas was examined. The report was submitted by research teams that have worked in the area in recent years.
The following were examined: the depth of the snow, the amount of precipitation, and the water flow levels in the Helena River and the drainage basin of the river, which includes about one million square kilometers east of Orel. It turns out that despite the general average warming and as a result
An increase in the level of precipitation is evident, slight cooling and slight drying in the summer seasons. The warming causes more precipitation and therefore the snow is almost twice as high compared to 1940, the melting of the snow and in addition the constant thawing of permafrost increases the amount of flow in the river by 10%.
Similar tests in the drainage basins of the Haube, Hainesee and other huge rivers that empty into the Arctic Ocean showed similar results. That is: the studies show that the amount of fresh water arriving
The Arctic Ocean is growing steadily.
A large part of the increased flow is attributed to the thawing of the permafrost, and since the forecasts show that more and more permafrost areas will thaw, the amount of flow in the rivers will increase.

At the same time, reports arrive about the effect of warming on the world's glaciers. Much has already been written and spoken about the melting of the glaciers in the north: Alaska, Greenland, the Arctic glaciers. Now more and more evidence is accumulating for the shrinking of Antarctica. Antarctica is twice as big as Australia and it is estimated that the glaciers covering it make up about 90% of the world's ice. From time to time, huge glaciers break off and sail into the ocean, a voyage that seemingly does not add or detract, except that while sailing in less cold waters the edges of the glaciers melt. In an examination using satellites, it turned out that every year Antarctica loses about 230 cubic kilometers of ice, which causes an increase of 0.4 square meters in the face of the ocean.

Due to the detachment of glaciers, the pressure on the land decreases and "enables" a slight uplift of the continent, a movement that causes further detachment and the strengthening of the trend, fortunately "fortunately" the glaciers detach only from the west of the continent
While in the east the precipitation increases and the snow layer increases. In this perhaps there is a balance that prevents a much greater elevation of the ocean surface.

Elsewhere I referred to the effect of warming on the currents of the Atlantic Ocean (thermohaline circulation). It is clear that the addition of fresh water to the circulation accelerates the effect and since more fresh water will cause the (salty) stream to sink early and accordingly have an immediate effect on the weather in its vicinity.

If that is not enough, it turns out that the damage caused to the oceans is much greater. The increase in the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere causes an increased melting of the gas in the ocean waters, the mass that causes the increase in the acidity of the water. The direct result, and to a large extent already felt, is a sharp decrease in the amount of edible fish, which means a direct damage to the supply of food to the entire environment and, of course, to the human population as well.

Ahead of a conference with the participation of 190 countries that is being held in Bonn (Germany) with the aim of preparing the next step in the Kyoto Convention, the Christian Aid charity publishes a document that is a forecast of the effects of global warming on populations in poor countries:
The Climate of Poverty: Facts, Fears and Hopes. According to the document, by the end of this century, about 185 million people will die as a result of drought/famine/expansion of the desert areas, floods, natural disasters and as a result of conflicts created because of these factors, all this in Africa alone.

For all the skeptics: a delegation of scientists from the USA came to the conclusion that "there is clear evidence of my changes
Climate due to human activities" was reported by the Climate Change Science Program
Originally written
A scientific report commissioned by the US government has concluded there is "clear evidence" of climate change caused by human activities.

According to the authors, "it is not possible to explain the rise in the past fifty years as a natural process only", that is, it is impossible to attribute global warming to natural factors without the human "addition". Data collected with the help of satellites clearly show the warming process and in light of the speed with which the process develops and the form of the warming there is no possibility that the cause is natural. The research was conducted and financed by an official of the US government (US federal climate research funds). Fred Singer, who is considered a "climate skeptic" and is the head of the Science and Environmental Policy Project on behalf of the Bush administration, has adopted the conclusions of the research that leads to a conclusion that is a complete reversal of his approach so far, so perhaps it can be hoped that the approach, his intention, of the polluter The big one will change for the benefit of all of us.
