Changing attitude to nature

To protect global biodiversity, we must change the way we relate to nature and share with it. A report published by the "Intergovernmental Organization for Biodiversity and Environmental Services" outlines the vision for saving nature and the environment.

For most people, "changing attitudes towards nature" is nothing more than a purely academic side job, but this change is deeper. A fundamental and necessary change is required to preserve and protect biodiversity and protect human and animal populations around the world from harm.

The number of animal and plant species is disappearing at a rate 100 times greater than it was in the last ten million years. More than a million species of plants and animals are in danger of extinction. It is estimated that 5% of the land surface and 66% of the ocean surface have changed as a result of human activity: a rapid increase in greenhouse gases, excessive consumption, and the concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a small minority threaten the quality of the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the quality of the food we eat. and as a result create an ecological disaster.

There is a possibility of change towards achieving a fair existence in a sustainable environment, but it requires a change in relation to nature. Among scientists, there is a strong consensus that justice and equality are closely related to a sustainable environment, meaning that stopping and reversing the damage to the environment and the loss of biodiversity will require a deep and rapid structural change, a change that is not easy but possible. As a result of the change, personal and social activity as a whole will be required, as well as behavioral, economic, institutional and cultural changes. The field of technology encompasses a wide range of dimensions.

In order to succeed in the changes, we must start as soon as possible. A clear understanding of how change leads to a fair distribution of resources, capabilities and gains to society, the economy and marginalized groups is needed so that we can move towards more justice, equality and sustainability. This knowledge exists. Lack of policy. It is important to put knowledge into practice.

The organization's members from 140 countries must commit to implementing the change in the next four years, while identifying the unique issues in human society that will ensure the preservation, restoration and proper use of biological diversity, as well as the integration of economic and social goals in sustainable development.

The assessment of the change processes is in its advanced stages and will be published by the organization in 2024, a report that will provide information and policy options that will help governments, organizations, decision makers and even individuals to understand and act to change the relationship between society, economy, policy and culture.

Throughout this report we will discuss activities that will assist in the implementation of the new convention entitled "Global Diversity - Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity" (Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity). In order to achieve a vision of biodiversity and sustainable development by 2050, 10,000 sources were evaluated, including scientific publications, government data, indigenous information and traditions.

The change will enable the creation of a fair world in which a connection and interdependence will be implemented between human well-being and the health of the natural environment, between human well-being and a sustainable world that is safe and prosperous for all humans and nature.

I have more to add that the concept of "changing attitude towards nature" unites within it the idea and attitude that state that humanity is part of nature and as such its duty is not to control it, not to enslave it, not to exploit it, not to destroy and destroy it but to merge and integrate with nature, like any other organism.
