Astrology in Test VII: Astrology researchers who kept an open mind. Last episode in the series

Before we end this series of articles, I'd like to go back and shine the spotlight on the people behind the studies

Ophicius crosses the Melka plain. 18th century painting

Here is a collection of quotes from a wide-ranging interview that was conducted for about a year(!) With 5 leading astrology researchers, each of them with over 20 years of experience in astrological research. Two of them are professional astrologers and two are professors at the academy. Together they published over 200 articles and several books on the subject. Geoffrey Dean whom we met many times and Rudolf Smit were full-time astrologers and even taught astrology. Geoffrey founded the WA branch of the Australian Association of Astrologers. Smith founded the first astrologers' society in the Netherlands. Both lectured at international conferences and in 1988 received an international award for their research contribution to astrology.

"We started the same way every astrologer starts: we calculated birth charts, we were impressed that they worked and we "locked in". Astrology has become our passion. In every free moment we dedicated ourselves to her. We read more and more books, made more and more birth charts for people and made connections with more and more astrologers (whose experience was similar to ours). We have become more and more convinced that astrology works. Nothing we have seen or been told has shown otherwise. Astrologers were usually nice people, seemed intelligent and learned, they spoke from the heart and based everything on their practical experience. With the exception of the superficial astrology columns in the newspapers which were rejected by most, there seems to be nothing to complain about. We did not understand why some people are hostile towards astrology. Despite this, problems arose from time to time - birth charts matched even when we accidentally used the wrong person's chart...

Those were the days when scientific studies were rare in the field. We started doing our own research, that is, controlling for possible biases and sources of error, something astrologers rarely did.

These were the lines that guided us in the research:
1) Be careful, because traps and biases lurk around every corner.
2) to look for and consider alternative explanations for findings attributed to astrology.
3) Test all the ideas that seem promising.
4) To follow the findings of the investigation, no matter where they lead, even if they lead in a direction that is in conflict with existing beliefs.

These guidelines seem pretty self-evident, but as far as we know, few astrologers follow them. It seems that even the most experts are not aware of the possible pitfalls, they do not consider alternative explanations and do not follow the findings to the end.

The questions we investigate are for example - is it true that Neptune in a certain angle encourages a certain quality? Are the astrology columns in the newspaper valid? Do certain transits of Mars predict accidents? How important is the element of the astrologer's experience, his intuition, the accuracy of the date of birth? Do astrologers get better results than computer programs / palm readers / graphologists? and so'.

But the most important question is a question that astrologers rarely dare to ask: Is it possible that we are fooling ourselves? Is it possible that astrology just seems to work, but for reasons unrelated to astrology?

We want to avoid a situation where we deceive ourselves, and avoiding self-deception is one of the basic elements of "being scientific". If we are not careful and aware of the places where we might stumble, we can look at the earth and conclude that the earth is flat. Things are not always as they seem, a point that most astrologers are probably unaware of.
We were horrified to discover that biases and experimental errors explained all the "positive" results obtained in the experiments!

At this point our astrology world started to collapse. For example when Jeffrey reversed the interpretations in the birth charts he gave to a group of volunteers and they didn't notice that something was wrong. [An identical case I previously described regarding Palm reading].
The total amount of research is correct to be hundreds of studies, some of them showed positive results but most of them - negative results. The supporting studies also talk about success rates that are only slightly higher than expected by chance - in other words, not the high levels of success that can be expected from them when reading the astrology books. To overcome such a considerable weight of refuting studies, an avalanche of new studies in which the results are dramatically positive will be required. Checking the general trend shows that this is clearly not what is expected to happen.

In the end, in view of the accumulation of evidence, we stopped providing astrological services, as did several other astrologers such as David Humblin, Terry Dwyer, Jan Kampherbek. . Obviously, such U-turns can be traumatic. Smith, for example, was at the beginning extremely skeptical of astrology, therefore his "conversion" to an astrologer had considerable personal significance. When he realized that astrology had no basis in fact, his rich and rewarding astrological life suddenly lost its meaning. He sank into a depression that lasted for several years, which was probably the main reason for his divorce. Even today it pains him to realize that his original skepticism about astrology was probably justified, albeit for stronger reasons than those mentioned in astronomy books. His experience demonstrates the passion an astrologer can have about his profession. To dismiss astrologers as charlatans (as some skeptics do) is to miss the point. "

So what's left for us?

During our long journey we had to part with all the principles of astrology one by one. The sun signs showed no connection to reality, and neither did detailed and personal birth charts (at least not in a way that anyone could discern this connection). After decades of research, only a very weak and irrelevant correlation was found for the general population that concerns some planets (Mars effect), and its validity and significance are also questionable.

We have seen how perceptual biases and various Louis products explain all the apparently positive results. Objective astrology only "seems" to work. She doesn't really work. If you want to be satisfied with subjective astrology, it is of course possible, but then there is no place to claim any connection to the external world, but to talk only about personal meaning, personal experience, personal empowerment, etc. (worthy goals in themselves).

It seems that the time has come to clean the astrology books of all the incorrect and unfounded information contained in them, to open a new page, as Goquelin himself suggested, and to establish what he called: The new astrology. It will only include elements that have proven themselves in studies.

At the moment the "New Astrology" book is empty. All its pages are white, and it is waiting for serious researchers to fill it with tested knowledge, and not only with ancient traditions whose origin is unclear and any connection between them and reality, as we have seen, is strictly coincidental.

  1. R. H.,
Josephus Flavius is also a descendant of the Hasmoneans.
Menelaus is the one that Antiochus appointed after Jason was deposed, and the Maccabees show him as an even greater Easterner than his predecessors.

  2. jubilee,

It's not a shape. Whatever works for you with your thesis, you accept as true. What is not, for example the book of Maccabees, you receive as literature "on behalf of". By the way, we also know about the priesthood from Palaios.

Beyond that, following the discussion I read a bit on the subject and it turns out that your sons of Zadok were expelled in general by Menelaus even before the Hasmoneans.

  3. R. H.,
Let's, with your permission, make a detailed diagnosis.
We know that the Hasmonean revolt was against the corrupt priesthood from reading the Book of Maccabees, and it was written by the Hasmoneans or at their invitation.
According to the Bible, Avitar was "parachuted" into the Temple by David. He was deposed by Solomon, David's successor, and started a family in the city of Anatot. He was an Israeli priest, unlike the original Jerusalem priests who were Jews. Avitar's descendants, who were removed from Jerusalem, were restored and invited to serve in the temple only after hundreds of years. Unlike the biblical stories of the time of Hezekiah and Josiah, which have many archaeological confirmations, the reliability of the mythological stories about the time of David and Solomon is highly questionable. It is not impossible that the story about the removal of Avitar after he supported Adonijah "who arrogates to be king" was nothing more than a finger-sucking story intended to explain the fact that the priests of Anat had been removed from Jerusalem for such a long time. It seems to me that they were the ones who founded monotheism, and because of that they were considered troublemakers and were removed from the holy centers in both Israel and Judah.
The legends about Simon, the father of his third son and of Jesus, present him as righteous and a creator of miracles (please note the play on words around the root tzdk). In his days there was a separation between religion and the state. The priest gave sacred services and the people judged another body. This was also the case in the days of the rightful successor of Simon the righteous, until the evil Antiochus interfered with the arrangements of the Temple with a rude foot. Even his son's successor, his brother Jesus-Jason, who is casually presented by the Hasmoneans as a Greek, was not Hellenistic enough for Antiochus' taste. I assume that the sons of Shimon the Tzadik were actually not troubled and corrupt as you portray them, but tried to preserve the embers of Jewish culture in peaceful ways as much as possible under the constraints of the capricious Syrian evil rule.

And what I want from Alexander Yanai is that he won't wear two hats in the first place.

  4. It is true that the Hasmonean revolt was mainly directed against the Hellenists, but it was also against the corrupt and corrupt priesthood, a priesthood that forgot many values. Again, I don't know how many shares of Bnei Zadok you bought, but don't forget that they started their journey when Zadok kicked out Avitar who supported the legal heir Adoniya and took over the priesthood and they ended their tenure in one of the saddest episodes full of corruption and syub on the eve of the rise of the Hasmoneans

By the way, what do you want from Alexander Yanai? You yourself say he had two hats. So when he was crucified he wore the king's hat, so as a high priest he is entitled! 🙂

  5. RH, indeed it is possible.

The facts you bring are in the history books, and it's probably hard to argue with them. But one must take into account who wrote them and what were the motivations for writing them.
According to the books of Maccabees, the Hasmoneans rebelled in order to distance the Hellenistic culture, the "Theites", from Judah. But already within a generation they have identified themselves.
A priest, and even more so a high priest, must not shed human blood. Alexander Yanai, who wore two hats, a high priest and a secular ruler, ordered the crucifixion of ten thousand Jews from his political opponents.
The cooperation of Yeshua (Jason) ben Shimon the righteous (dehino from Beit Zadok) with the Hellenistic ruler was a compromise that resulted from the need to achieve peace. This way of doing things is characteristic of priests of the sons of Zadok in general, as it is also written in the Sanhedrin treatise on Aaron who loved peace and pursued peace and made peace between man and his fellow man, in contrast to Moses who said "Judgement shall be on the mountain." According to the book of Ezekiel, the only family worthy of high priests is the House of Zadok. The Hasmoneans were not of the house of Zadok and were not worthy to serve in this high position. In order to act according to the Halacha, they were supposed to offer the son of Hanio to return to his servant in Jerusalem, but instead they succumbed to the sweet taste of corruption. In my opinion, the sect of the Sadducees was called that because its members agreed to accept the Hasmoneans as if they were descendants of Sadducees. They supported the Hasmonean house and made a great financial profit. The passing of the scepter of the priesthood from generation to generation within the original Zadok family saved fights and was useful for keeping the peace, and I would not be in a hurry to rule based on this because they were not "all blue Talit". The actions of the Hasmoneans did not keep the peace but achieved the exact opposite and ultimately led to the tearing of the nation from within and its collapse.

And regarding the love songs for the heads of the British kingdom: they are his witnesses sung to this very day. "Let's not besiege the king/queen" is the national anthem (next to "Britannia my signs on the waves"). It is interesting that the mourning that surrounded the British kingdom with the death of Princess Diana, which you will surely agree was not forced but spontaneous and stemmed directly from the heart, is reminiscent of the popular mourning for the death of the last two North Korean dictators.

  6. Spring
The quantum is just an example
5% is the ratio of not knowing for sure out of 100% who are searching and want it to be certain. When more events of the quantum type are discovered, it will be possible to add them to an amount of 5% that will complete to 100%

  7. jubilee,

After all, you can see things differently. The Hasmoneans succeeded in bringing the nation to independence for the first time since Tzedekiah. Among the other acts of reform they carried out was the replacement of the existing priests (sons of Zadok) who collaborated with the occupier. An acceptable and normal act. Furthermore, since the days of his followers and Jason, the priesthood has already been bought and sold and has become the height of corruption. So your sons of Zadok, even though they wore it, were not a tallit that was all blue.

As for the songs, you judge them by the poor of today. After all, there is almost no leader in history who was not crowned and hymns sung in his honor. Today it seems pathetic, but until recently even in your England, songs of praise were sung to the king. So again what are you doing in the Hasmoneans? How are they different from any revolutionary group that came to power?

  8. Father C, you prefer something whose accuracy is 0.00000000000001 percent and claim that the 95% accuracy of science is irrelevant. You probably don't know calculus either.

  9. Yoke for the limited powerless science dependent on material elements to which physical laws apply with 95% accuracy because science cannot prove at a 100% level how frustrated it is especially that it has no way of understanding what is happening with the quanta

  10. R.H., thank you.

I guess what bothers me personally is the legal issue.

Maybe there will be those who will take the story further and hang all the ills of the Jewish people on it and provide us with more material to chew on. who knows? It can even be interesting and maybe also bring us the Messiah of our righteousness in Agala and during the war.

I am involved in conversion in the Reform community in the city where I live. I am not in the religious section. I only teach them Hebrew. One of the candidates asked me yesterday for a free translation of "On the Miracles and the Miracles and the Wonders..." The images from the mass mourning in North Korea were still running through my head and on this festive occasion I also remembered the mourning for the death of the "Sun of the Nations", Stalin, whose Purim party was canceled at a close friend's kibbutz... I think that corruption at the top is not unique only to the modern era. Below is a favorite saying of mine, attributed to Henry Kissinger: "Even paranoids have real enemies". In short, you got a glimpse of how my twisted imagination works.

  11. jubilee,
Tell me why you take the story of the Bnei Zadok family in such a personal way? Have you invested in their shares? Or are you some distant relative who died so that his family would return to being priests who are busy all day slaughtering and shedding blood?
After all, some 2300 years have passed since the Hasmoneans took over the priesthood, so what's wrong?

  12. Good night
Scientists - this text is like a tribe of negroes in the heart of the jungle dancing around the pot in which the on-duty victim is being cooked.

  13. Avig, you are feminine.
The last word, you're an imposter.
The two contemporary holidays, Hanukkah and Christmas, are also fake. Both came out of the pagan festival of lights marking the beginning of the lengthening of the days and the shortening of the nights. The calendars have changed, and today the 25th of December (reminiscent of the XNUMXth of Kislu, and not without reason) falls very close to the beginning of the cycle; But in the old days, this date occurred about a week or ten days after the winter solstice (which is accepted today as the transition of the sun from Sagittarius to Capricorn), when the lengthening of the days was already noticeable.
The Jews bless on the Hanukkah holiday: "We light these candles for the miracles and the blessings and the wonders that you did for our ancestors through your holy priests." It is the only Jewish holiday in which the priests are blessed and presented as saints. The priests responsible for those miracles, blessings and wonders were members of the Hasmonean family who were responsible, among other things, for a terrible massacre among the Jewish people (perpetrated by the priest king Alexander Yanai), and this after they had usurped the high priesthood from the Zadok family.
Hanukkah is the festival of usurpation, the usurpation of the high priesthood. The Hasmoneans usurped the high priesthood from the Zadok family, and the Jews to this day blindly and stupidly obey the instructions of the usurpers to light candles in honor of the "holy priests" through whom God brought the miracle to the Jewish people. What miracle exactly? The theft miracle? The Hasmoneans ruled Judah for many decades and brainwashed their subjects. Apart from Hanukkah, there is no Jewish holiday in which God's holy priests are glorified and exalted. The phenomenon of lavishing praise on the ruling family is typical of tyrannical regimes such as that of North Korea today.
Christian Christmas is not free from criticism either. The common origin of Hanukkah and Christmas is the pagan festival of lights. The light appears already on the first day of the chapter of the creation of the world (Book of Genesis, chapter XNUMX, verse XNUMX) and "sons of light" appear at least four times in the books of the gospel. Therefore, it is only natural that God's son was born on the holiday of light. Hanukkah was not supposed to last this long. Only because Judaism switched to a calendar based on the moon, this holiday was lengthened to also include the particular date of the original Festival of Lights. In most years it does work, and Christmas does fall on Hanukkah, like this year, or close to it. Pinning the reason for the excessive length of the holiday on the "Miracle of the Fat Mouth" is just one of many methods of brainwashing.
In short, a happy and joyful Holiday of Lights ♠ ♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠

  14. Abi G.,
The correct analogy regarding New Age and science is not two hands holding the steering wheel but two feet, one pressing the gas pedal and the other pressing the brakes. I really hope you don't tell me I'm wrong because it seems to me that you were the one who got so excited about some sentence written by some idiot about owning truth or knowledge:
    https://www.hayadan.org.il/illusion-pandemic-1111113/#comment-319755

Of course, I believe that the claim you were enthusiastic about is incredibly stupid, both because it is easy to see how it leads to absurdity and because, in general, reality is clear and unequivocal, so it is not clear why we should assume that in other cases it behaves differently. In any case, I don't know a good reason to think so, and the meaningless words you often use only reinforce my opinion that it is not reality that is confused and does not know how to decide whether it is one way or another.

The question begs how do you even know anything? You wrote that your "litmus test" is what people (customers) report on, that is, in your opinion, if enough people think and believe that it is possible to quarter the circle, then it will be true in your opinion?

  15. jubilee
According to your words, there is a big gap between astrology and what you know about it, and more than that, you are probably not able to understand what to do with it other than imagining women getting into your bed.
As for those who are more interested in astrology, are they women or men, indeed women have a psychological/educational structure (behavior pattern in society) that is more emotional which brings them to help or see astrology and mystical spirituality as a tool that can balance them compared to men whose emotions are a little more controlled by the intellect (pattern male behavior in society) therefore they are more restrained in opening up to the New Age framework.

  16. Eran good morning!
There is no doubt that you are right as long as science and its studies say so.
Astrology is a method that those who use it really don't need the proof of science, they do need the test of the result in front of the client - the client is the litmus paper in this laboratory and this paper proves at least 80% that the method does what it intended.
Gilad already said in one of his articles that there are two ways that do not intersect, the New Age and science, you can flow with his position. I claim that the two citruses complement and support each other like the right hand and the left hand help you in driving a car even if you often drive with your right or left hand.

  17. Thanks, Gilad.
I didn't experience any great depression here. vice versa.
I have always maintained a certain degree of honesty. I told the consultation that I don't believe a word I say, but only quote from what is written in books and newspapers. This absolutely did not hinder them from continuing to consult with me.
I said "consulting". Have you noticed that women regard astrology much more positively than men. I have noticed this, and Harini provides first-hand evidence of this. On the other hand, it is possible that my testimony is biased because astrology was an effective tool for me to lead elements of this population segment to my bed. If I were interested in men, I might find it to be the other way around. In any case, until proven otherwise, I claim that belief in astrology is stronger among people whose biological sex is female.
Anyone ready to pick up the gauntlet?
Father C! If you respond to my claim, you can understand in advance what I think about your sexual tendencies.

  18. In short, father, nothing seems to be able to convince you. Even when you are presented with conclusive evidence and serious studies that show that astrology is baseless nonsense and that it is not able to predict anything about man, you are still firm in your opinion that it is something that should be taken seriously.

This way of thinking really doesn't make sense to me.

  19. Avi C, it is clear that the things you say have something to do with the client's reality, or rather, it is clear that the client finds meaning in the things you say that is related to his life.

What has no connection to reality is the symbols themselves, nor the connection between the symbols and the specific person (more than anyone else).
What emerges from all the research on this topic, as well as from the multitude of different and "effective" methods for counseling people, is that if you take a certain set of symbols (let's say astrology) and mix all its meanings (for example, replace the attributes of the planets with each other at random and set them this way, you will replace the properties of the zodiac signs, the meaning of the houses, etc. and you will create a "mixed" astrology), and continue to work with the new system (and of course you will do it with intuition, art, bridging internal contradictions, with the cooperation of the client) - I claim that the client came out just as satisfied (on average) across many customers).

That is, any sufficiently complex set of symbols will do the job to the same extent regardless of what meaning is given to each symbol.

The method may be "effective", but it is no more "correct" than any other parallel method.

If you are able to agree to this way of looking, I really don't understand what all the fights about the studies were about...

  20. monument
I really have no problem presenting what you wrote, although my speaking style is different from how you present things. It's just that the topic of reality is not related here because the "signs" I use help me say things that definitely have a touch on the client's reality (see it in the subjective sense) I'm not checking an objective situation here because it's not relevant for me.
As soon as the client says no, you're saying things that have nothing to do with my reality, I immediately close the basta and climb the scientific ivory tower.
Of course I make a distinction between science and astrology - where I wrote that astrology is a science - the word astrology means the theory of the stars (not the science of the stars).
Hope we have reached an agreement on this.

  21. Abi C,
The fact that you or people like you help people feel better, find meaning in their lives, change their perspective, etc. - it's blessed, it's beautiful, it's good. And of course I don't say that with even a hint of sarcasm. it's wonderful.

All I'm saying is that there are things that give meaning, etc., and there are things that are true. And often there is no connection between these two dimensions. These are two orthogonal dimensions in our lives.
Again I refer you to the chart here: https://www.hayadan.org.il/illusion-pandemic-1111113/

    I see it this way:
The "spiritual" consultant (I don't know what to call it) comes and says - come dear client, we'll grill us some signs, no matter how, date of birth, cube, tarot cards, letters in the name, coffee stains, wrinkles on the butt, it's really not important. All that is important is that we have a comprehensive, rich system of symbols that expands the personal space of the person.
I will tell you all kinds of things, you will cooperate, and together we will create an enriching, horizon-opening experience for us, and you know, there are a lot of people very satisfied with this process. And it even changed their lives, etc.
It's a mental-psychological process, and there really is no connection between these symbols and reality. It's not important at all.
We'll do it together, you'll get insights into life, if you're satisfied - you'll recommend it to your friends, and at the end you'll pay me for my work, because I made an effort, I devoted time and energy, and attention to you. I am not a charlatan, because I do not claim that it is objectively "correct". I'm just saying it helps. I know that it is meaningless to talk about the correctness of these symbols, and that any scientific attempt to find a connection between them and what I am telling you - has come to naught. It doesn't change the wonderful fact that it helps people.
With such a presentation of things I have no problem. (Of course there is the matter of training, business licenses, etc., but we'll leave it at that).
Do you have a father c. Is there a problem with displaying things this way?

But when they come and insist that these symbols have something to do with reality - that's what infuriates me. Because it is already in the other dimension - the dimension of knowledge, objective reality. This is the domain of science, and of the scientific tools to deal with it.

Science - a collection of effective tools and methodologies for researching the truth.
The tools you mention - effective tools and methodologies (let's say) for the study of personal meaning.
    Why not keep this separation?
Science is not useful (not at the moment at least) to help a person find personal direction and meanings, while the "awareness" tools are not effective to advance in knowledge and discover things about external reality.

    And please my father,
Read my words calmly, and don't answer me with a rant.

  22. R.H
Leave faith, it has nothing to do here.
Of course I'm interested in the scientific fields. That is why I am here in the knowledge that there is a large concentration of articles and studies that are interesting to read and learn.
Mystical spiritual knowledge is just as important to me, for me personally it is very important to help people who are having a hard time in life and want to help me and I am happy that I have the opportunity to do so. You don't understand how much people need support to strengthen advice to hug. Unfortunately, I will not be able to help with the scientific knowledge I am acquiring.

  23. Sirloin,

Littlewood's Law: If you define a "miracle" as something that happens one in a million, you will experience a miracle about once a month. If every second you experience "something", then 35 days of being awake are about a million seconds. (British mathematician John Edensor Littlewood).

You can read about "amazing" coincidences here: http://www.nekudotaim.co.il/?p=1096

    Abi C,

So you also believe in telepathy? Tell me how is it that you only get caught up in nonsense and things that have been refuted or are in so much doubt? What have all the biology problems been solved? Did you find a cure for the flu or a vaccine for AIDS (and not homeopathic...)? Have all the chemistry and physics problems been solved? Have you found how to predict earthquakes yet?
Why be interested only in Babizzar? Isn't it a waste of time?

    scorpio,
You see, you are really good at predictions.

  24. Well.. One thing in common is the paranormal detractors and the paranormal supporters:
Both could have predicted with an accuracy of 95% or more that after these series of articles each side would continue to disagree with the other side.

It will start with a polite discussion
From there the road to raising the tones is short
From there it will slide into a referral from the paranormal side to James Randi's million dollar prize
and referring the paranormal fools to Victor Zammit's million dollar prize
    http://www.victorzammit.com/skeptics/challenge.html

And will most likely end in cursing and blocking

    Honorable men
    Happy holiday
    :))

  25. Elisaf and Gilad
A pleasant surprise to read material from the sources - very interesting Gilad that you take this as the words of the living God, don't you want scientific proofs.
As a matter of fact, when reading educational material in general and interpretation from the sources in particular, one should study the entire lesson and understand it and not get excited by a number of sentences that should also be given a clearer explanation.
When all the nations believed in stone idols and the heavenly bodies and nature as the supreme and determining God, we the Hebrew (Jewish) people have one supreme God who gave us the Torah (Qumesh) in which all the laws required to behave as a moral nation that is different from the other nations and according to whose laws we must follow. Therefore, when you move away from God's way and His laws in the way that the heavenly bodies become God and according to which they walk, it is contrary to the way that God gave to our people and this is called idolatry.
As for astrology, there is a huge distance between it and ACM, and this has already been written by quite a few, so just to remind you, the astrological method is a tool for counseling people who are debating about different areas in their lives to expand their thinking to make a decision in the requested area, as in any area where you are looking for advice to formulate a position or decision.
Just like a person who wants to buy a television, he consults with several people in order to get broad information to form a decision to purchase the television (price/size/color/operation options/etc.) and Rambam would not call him an idolater if he went to consult on buying a television.

  26. A beautiful and important series of articles.

The scientific conclusion about astrology was already written by Maimonides almost 1000 years ago (in stark contrast to many others of his time):

"Which one is cloudy? These are the givers of the times, who arrogantly say that such and such a day is bad, such and such a day is good, such and such a day is appropriate to do such and such a craft, such and such a year or such and such a month is bad for such and such a thing.

It is forbidden to cloud, even though he did not act but announced those falsehoods that the fool imagines to be words of truth and wisdom...

And these words - all of them are lies and lies; And they were misled by the ancient idolaters of the Gentiles of the lands, so that they would follow them. And it is not proper for Israel, who are wise and wise, to continue with these vanities, and not to bring to the heart that there is a path in them: as it is said, "For there is no serpent in Jacob, nor magic in Israel" (Badmidbar XNUMX:XNUMX), and it is said, "For these heathen, whom you inherit - God Cloudy and to magicians, they will hear; And you - not so, the Lord your God gave you" (Deuteronomy XNUMX:XNUMX).

Anyone who believes in these things, and the like, and thinks in his heart that they are truth and words of wisdom, but the Torah forbade them - is nothing but one of the fools and the mindless, including women and children who are not of sound mind. But the possessors of wisdom and the innocent will know with clear evidence - that all these things that the Torah forbade are not words of wisdom, but confusion and vanity that the mindless have been drawn to, and have abandoned all the paths of truth because of them. And because of this, the Torah said, when she warned about all these vanities, "Be innocent, with the Lord your God" (Deuteronomy XNUMX:XNUMX).

  27. Gilad really not
    1. I am connected to people who know what 99.9% do not know. (and did not add).
    2. I am willing to research and do many cross-checks to identify what is real and what is a bluff.

  28. Spring.

Why fuss, what's so special about the fact that one of the biggest, if not the biggest, secret agents in the world would prefer it if it had the ability to control the media for the sake of not publishing secret information, especially wikipedia which is known and known to everyone as a website with un"distorted" information
Leave the definition conspiracy, it's a definition of upside down, that is, to make nonsense of a certain subject.
When you want to hide the truth it is not published, if you bypass the publication then immediately the media says there is a conspiracy of fringe parties here.

  29. monument
Either you are naive or you are running away from the truth.
wikipedia is a site that is unequivocally controlled by the FBI, there is no way that there will be confidential information.
And since you don't have connections in the right places you don't even know what's going on under your nose.
    wake up my friend

  30. My father c.
The American project that dealt with these matters was closed due to a lack of findings, some weak findings for which the explanation is controversial (and there really does not have to be the existence of supernatural forces), and in any case are of no practical use due to the negligible size of the effect (whatever its explanation may be).
You are welcome to read about it here:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate_Project

At the beginning there is the summary of the findings.

  31. And on this Ahad Ha'am already said: This is half a consolation.
2 am in Los Angeles. Good night.

  32. The people
The secret services of Russia and the USA work quite a bit in order to expand the ability of people with sensitive skills to pick up the thoughts of certain people as well as mislead certain people with information (positive or negative depending on the requirement).

  33. You see, it's worth a million dollars!
(The prize, if you manage to prove that he really understood).

  34. The people
    Luckily for us
We're not on the same frequency or my brain would explode.

    Israel
No one said that every thought around you has to absorb
It is said that there is sometimes (1%) a situation where you perceive something that someone at that moment was thinking
    And that's special.

  35. It's amazing that none of the people around me are at all aware of what I'm thinking right now, even though I'm sitting in a lecture with dozens of people...
For every time your friend does or says something you thought/said, think how many times he didn't...
By the way of a song, sometimes people whistle to themselves or do other things that may "infect" people around them... (tapping in a certain rhythm, it was played on the radio when they both got up and a thousand and one other factors that could potentially have an effect).

  36. sirloin
There are many more situations where you think of a song, and then your friend suddenly doesn't sing it.

Or you think about someone you haven't talked to in a long time, and suddenly they don't call you.

    Etc. etc.

You just don't remember them, because nothing happened.

  37. Cinta Hello!
You have to be a little careful, because on this site you have to talk in scientific facts, otherwise the troll takes over you.
From my knowledge of telepathy and it is limited it says the following

As soon as a person thinks, he transmits X-frequency energy that carries tiny vehicles (doesn't know how to quantify them) everywhere and at any distance until he encounters a person in whose brain (or his cerebellum) there is the open receiving vessel for that X-frequency
(There are many frequencies, I don't know how many).
As soon as two people are on the same transmission and reception frequency, the information goes over the wire (telepathically).
    What is your learned opinion?

  38. I'm a pretty skeptical person, I don't buy any 'spiritual' idea of souls/energies/halos/stars, etc.
But there is one idea that wanders through my mind and refuses to leave, and that is 'supersensory perception'.
I'm talking about those situations where you're thinking of a song, and then your friend suddenly sings it,
Or you think of a sentence to say, and while you're formulating it in your head, your friend uses the same wording.
It's the only non-scientific 'spiritual' thing that my mind engages in sometimes.
Or, when you're thinking about someone you haven't talked to in a long time, and suddenly they call you. ('long life')
I would be happy to see scientific studies that try to come across the idea of telepathy, albeit a very weak one,
or increased sensory perception. Not something at the level of David Copperfield, something more abstract...
Right now to invent a reason for myself I invent that we emit 'thought' waves into the environment.
And that people with this sensitivity can absorb and process.

  39. We will wait and see if there will be any responses. I am prevented from responding, so as not to create bias.

  40. Israel I flow with you
First of all, I don't attack anyone, I speak my mind, I knew and from my experience, if someone feels that it contradicts his position, it's perfectly fine, it also requires him to start thinking (because often square people don't know how to think outside the box).
Section 1 I followed Section 2 I followed Section 3 My answer I guess corresponds to 99% of the people who would ask you Zala this and it is "a million dollars in cash"
I hope you keep this capsule a secret and don't tell anyone, I may have mistaken the percentage down, I guess it aims for 100%
I would appreciate it if you could give me your opinion on this.

  41. Abby C

Do you mind if we do a little test to see if you have grasped the heads of many of the writers here?

    1. Randomly choose 3 names from which you often collide with recently. We will create the names in your heart.

    2. Ask yourself the following question: If the choice was up to them, what would they prefer: a million dollars in cash, or to make an important scientific discovery and not receive a penny?

    3. Reveal the answer only to me. We are here alone, in a club for a friend.

  42. Israel
You know why you are so right
Because the normal person is not a human robot with a soul, and if he has a soul, then his personal life is much more interesting to him than dry scientific material, 1% of which is applied for the sake of the person and the rest for the pocket and honor.
It's a shame that there are no statistics showing how much money was spent on research that really helped a person and how much was spent on research that was thrown into the trash can or put away because they save money from the public.

  43. Here is a statistically backed prediction for the future of the occult:

Gilad's articles on the occult will receive much more comments than Nahmani's articles on chemistry.

Gali's articles about the occult in physics will get many, many more comments than Nachmani's articles about chemistry.

Michael's articles on free will will get many, many more responses than Nachmani's articles on chemistry.

Private assessment: If Nachmani, instead of writing about chemistry, had written about alchemy, he would have received many, many, many more comments from Nachmani's writings about chemistry.

  44. Luke
Say thank you to the creator of the world who made us not robots, these are people with intellectual independence with freedom of choice
With ego and other elements that distinguish us from each other.

  45. monument
I haven't laughed like that in a long time after reading the last and concluding article.
It's good that the paper absorbs everything and as long as there are trees in Brazil it is possible to produce paper and write tons of stupid studies on it by frustrated astrologers or on purpose.
Soon some frustrated scientists will rise up and start writing critical articles demolishing the foundations of science.
    Gilad you made me laugh
I am waiting for the next series of your articles - I am convinced that science fiction will buy them from you for the movie of the century.
    Love you.
    My father c.

  46. monument
    What do you think?
"The human DNA is a biological internet and in many ways, a lesson superior to its artificial counterpart.
The latest Russian research directly or indirectly explains phenomena such as: knowing the future, intuition, spontaneous healing, self-healing, techniques of self-strengthening sentences, auras of light around people (especially spiritual masters), the influence of the mind on the weather and much, much more.

Additionally, there is evidence of a whole new realm of medicine where DNA will be affected and reprogrammed by using words and frequencies without the need to cut and remove entire genes. Only 10% of our DNA is used to build proteins. This is the only segment that is of interest to modern Western medicine, and it is the only one that is examined and cataloged."

  47. Humans' belief in cults, religions and other vanity and spiritual sciences stems from a desire to control the universe or your own future.
When you abandon the desire to control and embrace the learning experience and the desire to understand what is around you, you discover that the destination no longer matters (because there is no destination) and you enjoy the journey and the view.
Unfortunately, many in the population find it difficult to understand modern science and therefore do not enjoy this experience, and the education system whose teachers do not encourage natural curiosity must be blamed for this.
Those people who find it difficult in the fields of modern science connect mentally and emotionally to fields of science that are easier to digest such as astrology, gematria and healing.

  48. According to the quote you give, he is just confusing between "subjective" and "objective" astrology.
Look, such transitions are not easy for a person. from any direction to any direction
At the same time, I think it is much easier to start believing in something, than to stop believing in something. That is, it is understood that he clings to at least the subjective.
It's like a good optical illusion - no matter how much you know it's not true, you keep "seeing it with your eyes".

  49. Gilad take it another step
The most convincing way is to listen to the most expert and neutral person at the same time, David Humblin
An astrologer who did the most difficult thing - crossed the lines to the skeptical side and rejected astrology
And.. decided to cross the line again in favor of astrology

However, in 2003 I began once again to do research into astrology, and I have now come to feel that, as I say in the Preface to The Spirit of Numbers, "it is worthwhile to practice astrology, because, even though it may possibly not be true, it most certainly seems to be true... I have looked at more than a thousand charts, and I am constantly amazed at how the Birth Chart does in fact describe people as they are".

    http://davidhamblin.net/astrology.html

  50. It's a pity that you chose to end with a sentence that includes "in ancient traditions of uncertain origin", and you did not refer at all in the series to the strong connection between the religion of astrology and the gods from Greek mythology and the religions that worship the stars. Treating astrology as a failed science actually qualifies it in a way as it completely ignores the true essence of astrology: pagan mysticism.
