The president of the Hebrew University Prof. Menachem Magidor today expressed his joy along with his concern and said: "The fact that in the list of the 500 best institutions in the world there are 6 Israeli institutions, and the Hebrew University is among the first 100, is very impressive, considering the size of Israel. At the same time, it will not be possible to preserve the position of the Israeli academy in general and the Hebrew University in particular, without a solution to the acute crisis that the higher education system is facing today.''
