As part of the merger of activities, the Chairman of AIMS Overseas, Tomer Savchinsky, will be appointed to the position of head of the division of Israeli medical students abroad. Savchinsky, 25, is a medical student at the First Medical Institution in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The organization of Israeli medical students abroad AIMS Overseas is an organization founded in 2021 by a group of students who came together to improve the experience and level of study of Israeli students studying abroad. The purpose of the organization is to take care of students abroad while regulating their status in Israel, providing assistance through services and scholarships and making information available for those interested in studying medicine abroad. The organization is made up of 40 communities in 14 countries of Israeli medical students around the world. The organization focuses on cooperation with government ministries, the Medical Association, houses and health funds, MKs and ministers, for the return of students from abroad to return to work in Israel, through the promotion of legislative proposals, reforms, conferences, courses and surveys with students, for the benefit of the goal that they will return to work in Israel . In addition, the organization holds webinars, seminars for clinical rounds in Israel and internships, podcasts about experiences from the various universities and job offers for medical students abroad.

ScienceAbroad, the organization of Israeli scientists abroad, is a non-profit organization that has been operating since 2006 to maintain contact with Israeli researchers in the world and return minds to Israel. ScienceAbroad is an international community for over 4,500 Israeli researchers worldwide. The organization operates 41 centers in 9 countries managed by volunteer scientists and provides tools, develops connections and opens doors for Israeli scientists who wish to return to Israel in order to bring with them the knowledge, talent, experience and connections they have gained to academia and industry as a growth engine for Israel.

To begin the joint activity, the organizations will hold a conference at the ScienceAbroad offices in Hod Hasharon on Thursday, August 17, with the managers of the AIMS communities abroad and with decision makers in order to discuss legislative issues, required changes and steps to be taken during the coming year for the benefit of Israeli medical students studying abroad.

Now we will be able to create continuity for years to come while establishing and institutionalizing work with the government and decision makers."
